The second MAST meeting, finally

Another year, and a chance to bring enthusiastic testers together to network and learn from each other. To this end, I’m going to be organising public MAST gatherings. This will be a bi-monthly drinks night at a venue to be decided. In addition to this, I’ve set up a Ning group to allow members to chat to each other about local issues and to manage announcements and attendance for the group.

You can register your interest by following this link: http://melbournetesters.ning.com/?xgi=2edcWVP

I also recommend joining the other tester club on Ning at Driven QA – http://club.drivenqa.com and finding the ANZAC group.

Hope to see you all soon, and apologies to the person who emailed me about MAST recently. Thunderbird managed to destroy your email before I could reply. The tester ‘black thumb’ apparently extends to applications that I’m not trying to test as well.

MAST Podcast – Agile testing experiences

I feel very ‘tech’ now. I’ve uploaded an edited audio version of the last MAST meeting, where we (Erik Petersen, Kristan Vingrys and me) attempt to answer John Gallagher’s questions about testing in agile projects.

Find it at http://www.quinert.com/mp3/mast200709a.mp3

Enjoy!

The three beeps protect the innocent. The first is a service provider, the second and third are internal departments of one of John’s past employers.

MAST lunch…

The first MAST lunch will be taking place on Tuesday, May 1st, 12.30pm. The venue will be Blue Train Cafe at Southbank (http://www.bluetrain.com.au). If you want to attend, but have not responded, please do so ASAP.

MAST kickoff and tester lunch

After a hectic last year and some technical hitches, I’d like to finally take some action on getting a local software testing group off the ground in Melbourne. Things will kick off with a lunch on May 1st. Details can be found at http://www.quinert.com/. If you’ve emailed me previously or had joined the old forum, please contact me again if you are interested in attending, as I may have lost your contact details due to hosting problems last year.

Hope to see you all there!

Tester meetup in Melbourne, Australia

I’ve been (very) slowly collecting names and email addresses of enthusiastic testers in Melbourne, and have been hoping to organise some kind of meetup or regular drinks night. Is anyone from Melbourne reading? If so, drop a comment. If there is enough interest, I will post a venue/time.

Erik, you must come!

Note: This now happens monthly via MAST – http://melbournetesters.ning.com
